I have a new Demarini Vendetta C6 baseball bat.I have been hitting with it in the batting cages.There are tons of marks from the yellow batting cage balls on the barrel of the bat.Hod do I get them off without hurting the bat?

I miss playing HS baseball and I just want to know what bats today really knock the crap out of a baseball/softball. I just want to look and feel really cool as the ball comes off the bat super fast in a batting cage.

I overheard some people talking about breaking in composite, -3 bats. I know that the more times a ball is hit off it the better it becomes. They said that breaking in a composite bat at a batting cage was not good for the bat. I just got a really good Easton Stealth bat and want to break it in without harming the bat. Is it ok to break it in at a batting cage?

do you like baseball? would you bring your child or yourself to come to a batting cage, how well in your opinion would it do. selling food and having six cages at a dollar for 15 balls that would be about 2 minutes a round. do you think its a flop or possible potential for a successful business. i know you don't know all the financial angles but your opinion does not hurt. thanks for reading and maybe one day your kid will be there

Im 17 and im going into college next year...i never played baseball for my HS team but i have practiced throughout the years in opened baseball fields and batting cages and i know everything there is about baseball....Most of my friends and family encourage me to play baseball because of the ability i have as an outfielder mostly...im pretty quick but i have never played HS baseball...can i still make it to a college team???

I started playing slowpitch softball with some friends, and I've decided I enjoy it enough to buy some gear and get into a league. Unfortunately, there's still a fair amount I have left to learn, particularly about bats.

I recently purchased a softball bat. I did a bit of research and bought one that is nice, but not too expensive. Basically, I bought something better than a cheapo Wal-Mart bat, but I waited to spend $2-300 until I know for certain this is something I'll enjoy enough to invest in.

So, here are my questions:

1) How long can I expect the bat to last?

2) I've read that I shouldn't use the bat in batting cages, as it will shorten its life. Right now, I don't have a cage bat. Will a few trips to the cages damage the bat, or should I avoid the cages altogether? I'll buy a cheap cage bat soon, I just need something for 2 or 3 trips in the interim.

3) Is there a break in period for a softball bat? If so, is a cage ok for this, or should I hit real softballs?
