backyard batting cage
My son enjoys playing soccer and baseball with his other brothers and cousins. He's said he wants to try out next fall for soccer, and in the winter for baseball. He seems quite nervous about it all and how the other kids will judge his playing. He doesn't play poorly, however I've noticed he does get uptight when the cousins bring friends he's never met to play the sports.

Practice, practice, practice. my son sucks at sports but he loooves playing them. It doesn’t matter to him what position he plays as long as he plays, and it encourages him regardless if he struck out again, or didn’t catch that ball. So let your son be, and if he is overly aware he might get anxious so that is a sign to work on relaxation techniques to get him to calm down.

mom is correct. Practice is the key. Sports is something that must be repeated continuously to maintain a level of expertise. Actually, a bonus is that one should get better at it which produces a higher level that is maintained.
