backyard batting cage
I play high school baseball in northern Vermont where there’s still tons of snow, know any drills I can do indoors to get ready for the season, I’ve been keeping active all winter I’d like technique things to get the rust off.

if you have a garage or somewhere big where you are able to swing a bat, grab some pop corn throw it up in the air and practice hitting the popcorn. It will help with your hand eye coordination and it’s also a technique that Manny Ramirez uses.
Or you can buy the hit away pole. I have one on craigslist for 60$ brand new.
Brand new they go for about 100$

For my softball team back here in Mass, we have a machine that you feed tennis balls and you can hit around in the gym. It’s called the Lobster Tennis Machine. Below is a link that has the machine my team uses. You can set the speeds for certain people’s skill. It is a little pricey, but if you can get donations and have your team work together for the money it won’t be as hard.
