I started Varsity the last half of my sophomore season for a pretty big 6A (highest) school. I'm about 5'10, 165 lbs. I work out in the weight room a lot. Benching about 220 right now and squating 335. I was identified as a college prospect by a regional scout at our regional game, so I got an invite from this Coast2Coast baseball organization (anyone heard of it)? They have a lot to offer but it's very expensive, but I'm going to their college and pro showcase in Florida in the winter, and I'm going to play with them in Puerto Rico next summer for a week long tournament. Other offers were going to play in Australia and Hawaii, but those were too expensive. Also in about a month, I am going to this one day camp where they tape you hitting and at your defensive positition, then they send a DVD of it to 200+ colleges in your area (ranging from D1, D2, D3, junior). So what are my odds of getting some very good looks from these few showcases/camps/tournaments and playing college baseball?

Probably pretty good if you have been playing on varsity since you were a sophmore. The showcases will help you. However, it depends on how good you are. Scouts will find you if you are good enough to play D1. D2 and D3 you need to go to those showcases.
Sounds to me like you are on the fast track. I talked with a guy who scouts for the astros, he works with my son and he told me the number one thing he looks at is attitude. How a player acts when he is playing good and how he acts when he is playing bad. So keep a good attitude and good luck.
Very good. I played varisty my sophmore year and I just finished up at a camp at the College Of Charleston. I didn’t play much as a sophmore but I was one of the camp MVP’s and the coach told me they will be keeping an eye on me. Just keep working hard and try and perfect your hitting. Im outside doing throwing, and speed resistance drills almost everyday. I try and hit about 3-5 days a week.
I’m pulling for ya man. Keep up the good work and I hope I’ll be playin against ya in a few years
I am curious, what position do you play??
hey guys thanks for the answers. this is the person who asked the question i didnt realize i was on my parents e-mail. in response to the guy above me, i play mainly 3rd base. i played shortstop a lot before this year but they had me playing only 3rd on varsity. i also pitch.
