Don’t lift as if you’re trying out for the Defensive line…baseball players don’t need to be ripped. Longevity and durability is the key. Lots of running and some weight training is really all you need.

Working your forearms, triceps, shoulders and legs are the most important. Big biceps look good but may cut your arm flexibility. Also strengthen your core muscles, everything rotates around them.

if it were me i would work on my wrists, forearms and genaral speed and flexibility. hitting uses hands and wrist more than bicepts to create bat speed. Speed is always a plus whether at the plate or in the field. kepp it simple. look at Alfonso Soriano, he’s a stick pin yet hits for similiar numbers as some of the biggest guys in the league. it’s hands and wrists and forearms that create the bat speed and reaction time

Work on your core – Abdominals, obliques, lower back, hamstrings, quads and glutes. This will give you a good foundation. Then you can target more specific areas. A solid core will give you the torque and stability you need for baseball.

Check out the site above. It has some good basic information
