backyard batting cage
After seeing the Phillies won the World Series (Rays got what they deserve), it got me thinking that during the off season i should start training for tryouts for my high school baseball team. Any good tips on how to get in shape for baseball season?

FYI I live in Illinois so there is a winter were I live.

    G’day,

I agree with “so in Love. I was rooting for the Rays.

Well, I would go to your PE instructors and ask for a fitness program to get in shape.

    A weight program for strength.
    Do aerobics classes for endurance.

You might wish to look into getting a personal trainer to motivate you [appropriate verbal dope slaps may be needed from time to time] and push you.

You have about 5 months of hard work in front of you.

Okay, already. Why aren’t you at the gym? :-)

    Good luck.

Do some weight training and conditioning like running. Play catch and do some long toss. Strengthen your forearms, triceps, shoulders, lats, your core, quadriceps, calves, and hamstrings. Go to the batting cages, hit off a tee, do some soft toss. If you’re planning on playing a position other than pitcher you can take fly balls and groundballs.
Practice a lot and work hard.
